The name of American reality series Beyond Scared Straight ("#BeyondScaredStr8") is promoted at the top of Twitter's trending topics on the morning of January 14.

The hashtags "#confessionhour," "#nowthatslove" and "#preguntocomoloretdemola" take second, third and fifth places in the chart.

Twitter is ablaze with the news there may be a 13th zodiac sign: "Ophiuchus" (Greek for "snake holder" or "serpent-bearer"). Astronomer Parke Kunkle suggests that changes in the Earth's alignment since the astrological signs were first allocated 3,000 years ago should be reflected in a changed definition of dates for the existing sidereal zodiac signs and the addition of a 13th sign.

The Spanish and Italian translation of Ophiuchus, "Ofiuco," is also trending in sixth place.

A link to a documentary about martial arts instructor and actor Bruce Lee is being shared around the Twittersphere, helping "Bruce Lee" to trend in seventh place.

The name of female Nigerian People's Democratic Party presidential aspirant "Sarah Jubril" is in eighth place, "Efeito Borboleta" (Portuguese for "Butterfly Effect") is in ninth place and the name of Dutch supermarket chain founder "Albert Heijn" is in tenth place.

The top 10 most talked about topics on Twitter on January 14 at 7:30 AM GMT are:
