Instead of a big-budget, licensed tie-in with character actors and overblown plot lines, themakers of the new Star Trek film have released this remarkably restrained download. It’s essentially a top-down arcade shooter, which eschews recreating scenes from the movie in favour of explosive space warfare. Choose between Deathmatch, Conquest and Assault modes of play and decidewhether you prefer to play as a Starfleet goodie or a Romulan baddie. Then things get interesting – the battles in Star TrekD-A-C support up to 12 players, making action an exciting, intergalactic bunfight. Well played, Paramount.
