Games allow even the least adventurous of us to attempt things we’ve never done before. Slaying alien lifeforms, driving anti-gravity crafts – and, in my case, playing cricket. Having never swung a real bat in anger, my cricket knowledge is gleaned from colleagues and the telly. But Ashes Cricket 09 offers fans and newbies alike the chance to excel at batting, bowling and fielding the Wii’s arm-waving approach should win over even the most clueless player to a solid sports sim.
