Games Review: House of the Dead: Overkill
Wii, Sega, £39.99
Shoot-’em-up fans who like plenty of splatter should feel right at home with the crude,
rude and very bloody world of House of the Dead: Overkill, with its “goregasm” and
“psychotic” states of play. Inspired by B-movies, Overkill is packed with pop-culture
references and potty-mouthed characters, from blaxploitation cops to mutant
zombies.Action is split into a series of episodes, each with a distinctively retro
cinematic feel and tsunamis of blood, guts and brains. Subtle it’s not, but Overkill
is over-the-top fun for over-18s.
