It's taken a year, but we've finally got some news on GTA V heists, which Rockstar have teased plot details and gameplays for in a new trailer.

"I know you've been complaining, but you weren't ready," Lester is seen telling an online player (though it was definitely Rockstar who weren't ready for the update), before we head to a bank vault where a crew is drilling open safes.

"There are five unique strands involving over 20 total missions, which will add up to around 20 hours of gameplay," Rockstar's Imran Sarwar told Kotaku. "We hope players will then replay them multiple times to take on the other roles and to try different ways of tackling the missions."

Heists will be available to players of rank 12 or higher, and arrive through a free update (date TBC).

"Today we are happy to present a new trailer for the four-player co-op mode for Grand Theft Auto Online that allows players to plan, prepare and execute multi-tiered Heists across Los Santos and Blaine County.," Rockstar wrote alongside the trailer posted today.

"These will require tight communication and coordination, with players taking on specified roles at each point to accomplish multiple objectives on the way to each Heist's epic finale. Featuring new gameplay, new vehicles, new weapons, new clothing and much more."
