Reddit's official mobile app has finally arrived - and it comes with three months of premium membership
There's three free months of Reddit Gold for everyone who downloads the app in the first week of release
Reddit is changing a lot today - on the same day it announced it would finally be introducing a block button to the site, it also launched its first official mobile app.
Reddit apps already exist, but they've mostly been created by unofficial third-party developers.
The company bought the popular Alien Blue Reddit app in 2014, but rather than building and rebranding it, they've released an entirely new one, the catchily-named 'Reddit: The Official App'.
Alien Blue will now be retired, and the team behind it will re-focus on the official app.
It looks fairly polished and colourful, but there's not many features you wouldn't find in any of the alternatives. It's available now (for free) for iOS and Android, although The Next Web reports it's not available in every country yet.
Even if you're happy with your existing app, the free three months of Reddit Gold which come bundled with the download may change your mind.
This bonus only applies if you get the app in the first week of release, so head to your app store quickly before it expires.
