The 10 most popular games on video game guide website GameFAQs on Wednesday, February 10 include space opera Mass Effect 2, more questions and answers about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Japanese export White Knight Chronicles, and the long-awaited underwater dystopia of BioShock 2.
Mass Effect 2 shows it's a game with depth as continued interest from players keeps it at the top of GameFAQ's charts. It's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360 that's showing the most stamina, climbing back up to second place, having been in GameFAQs' Top 100 since April 2009 and in the Top 10 since its release in November.
White Knight Chronicles is one of three new entries detailed here, faring well for a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Keza MacDonald of Eurogamer encapsulated many critics' viewpoints in saying that it's "strongest as a single-player game... the multiplayer is not essential," despite online enhancements since its Japanese release. It is for those single player hints and tips that White Knight Chronicles players have been turning to GameFAQs.
BioShock 2 was not released until Tuesday, February 9 but as a sequel to one of the best games of recent times it was sure to generate a lot of interest. Readers of the game's walkthroughs will have to be careful, for as with previous BioShock and System Shock games, the story is often as compelling as the action.
Dante's Inferno was part of a big marketing push by its publisher, including a commercial placed during the notoriously expensive Super Bowl programming. Though no game guides have yet been uploaded to GameFAQs, there are plenty of owners asking questions about specific areas of the game.
