You Vs Wall and Red Ball are the most popularly downloaded free iPhone applications for the week of February 8.

The top free application by country* for the week, by number of downloads, recorded on February 8:

1. US
Red Ball (games)

Red Ball players have to roll the ball through a series of different obstacles in order to reach the flag at the end of each level. Players test their agility against swinging axes and their ball-control skills as they try to glide past each and every object in their way.

2. UK
You Vs Wall (games)

You Vs Wall is a virtual version of the much-loved Japanese game show "Tunnels no Minasan no Okage Deshita" (more commonly known as Human Tetris). Players play against the clock to fit their character through a hole in the wall. As the wall moves closer the player must manipulate the legs, arms, head and body of their character into an exact replica of the hole in the wall to ensure they will fit through the gap. Think human Tangrams mixed with Tetris and crazy Japanese game shows.

3. France
Mario & ses amis Lite (games)

Mario & ses amis Lite (Mario & his friends Lite in English) return customers to the heyday of Super Mario Brothers games with a collection of 20 different Super Mario Bros-inspired sound clips. Sound snippets are taken from classic console games such as Super Mario 1, 2 &3, Mario 64, Zelda, Mario Kart, Street Fighter, Yoshi and Donkey Kong.

Kinetic Balls (games)

Kinetic Balls is a "physics-based" application that lets users interact with a group of five balls. The iPhone application is based on the Newton's Cradle business desktop toy popularized in the 1980s. Users can slide their fingers across one or two balls to set the kinetic forces in motion. There are 12 different skins including, metallic balls, basketballs, coconuts and faces.

6. Australia
Air Horn (Free!) (entertainment)

Air Horn (Free!) is a virtual air horn. Touch the screen to make the horn sound, shake the phone for an even longer and louder noise. Created to be used at sporting events to cheer your team on (or to annoy those closest to you).

7. Japan
Clock Radio Free (utilities)

Clock Radio Free offers users a modern take on the classic bedside table radio alarm clock. The application combines more than 25,000 internet radio stations with a futuristic clock display. Consumers can set their phone to wake them up in the morning with music from their favorite internet radio station. The application also features a customizable back-lit 12 or 24 hour display clock with equalizer.

8. Italy
MarchTube (utility)

YouTube addicts can use MarchTube to download and store YouTube videos on their device for offline viewing. The application is a custom-designed browser for watching, browsing and managing YouTube video content on your device.

9. China
LoveMusic (music)

LoveMusic is a powerful music search engine for karaoke lovers. LoveMusic analyzes the music you listen to and searches for a list of corresponding song lyrics. Once downloaded, the lyrics are automatically saved within the application so you can read them when you are out of range. When playing a song on your iPhone with the application open, the lyrics will scroll across the screen so you can sing along to your favorite songs. In addition, users can search through their collection of stored lyrics by keyword to find a song.
