WWDC stream: how to watch the Apple’s big 2015 keynote live

If you're on a PC or using Android, you're out of luck — unless you take a roundabout route

Apple is gearing up to hold its Worldwide Developers Conference, where it will reveal the new iOS, Mac OS and services like Apple Music. If you want to follow along live, Apple is broadcasting a livestream — but only to select people.

Apple’s livestream will be viewable at apple.com/live and on the Apple TV just before 6pm UK time, when the event is scheduled to start. The official stream can only be watched using Apple devices: either using Safari on Mac OS or on iPhone, or using the Apple Events app on the Apple TV.

In recent years, Apple has added extra features to the live site, like official pictures and round-ups as the event goes on. It also provides the option to add the event to your calendar to receive a reminder of when it's about to start.

There are unofficial ways of getting it on a PC or Android computer. Downloading VLC and locating the address for the stream — usually widely shared once the event has got going — will bring up the stream, though it’s often patchy and needs continuously refreshing.
