Weekly high-tech product releases: iPhone 4, e-All-in-One printers, Motorola Milestone XT720

High-tech product releases announced the week ending June 9 include Apple's next generation iPhone, cloud-connected printers that will print anything you can email, the Dell Streak, the Motorola Milestone XT720, and Wellington boots that let you dance your way to a fully-charged mobile phone.

The much anticipated iPhone 4 is Apple's "biggest leap [in mobile phone technology] since the original iPhone." The device packs in a forward-facing camera, a Retina display, HD video recording, a 5 MP camera, and increased battery life into the slimmest form factor ever seen on a smartphone. iPhone 4 will also ship with Apple's next generation operating system iOS4 which brings multitasking, application folders, threaded Mail, additional Enterprise support and the iAd mobile advertising platform to the newly designed device. iPhone 4 will be available in the US, UK, France, Germany and Japan from June 24, in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland by the end of July and should be available within 88 countries worldwide by the end of September. Pricing starts from $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB model in the US (international pricing has yet to be announced).

Printers that can wirelessly print anything you can email
HP's new range of e-All-in-One printers embrace cloud computing so you can print whatever is on your mobile, tablet, PC or email-connected device from half way around the world. Users can upload and store their documents or files in the cloud and print them whenever it is convenient or can send a document directly to their printer's unique email address for instant printing. Using an e-All-in-One printer, people can also access and print Google Docs, Photos, and Calendars from the printer's display - without the need for a proxy PC. In addition, the printers enable users to schedule daily, weekly or monthly printing of a customized news feed so their document is waiting for them when they want it. The HP Photosmart e-All-in-One printer is priced at $99 and will be available in North America later in the month. The HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One will be available worldwide in August for $149. The HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One costs $199 and will start shipping worldwide in September. The HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One is priced at $299 and will have worldwide availability in September.

A tablet that bridges the gap between smartphones and large-screen tablets
The Dell Streak was first previewed at CES in January where it stole the hearts of the tech world. The 5-inch (12.5-centimeter) screened, Android-powered device brings web browsing, multi-tasking, turn-by-turn navigation, and media-rich content to the miniaturized tablet. Specifications include a multi-touch WVGA (800x480) display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM-based processor, a 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash plus a front-facing camera for video chat, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and support for up to 32GB of memory via Micro SD cards. The Streak is priced at £399 or comes free on a 24 month data or voice contract in the UK. The tablet is available now in the UK and will be arriving in the US later in the summer.

An 8 megapixel Android smartphone with a Xenon Flash
The Motorola Milestone XT720 is the first smartphone to ship with a Xenon Flash. The 10.9mm capacitive touch device runs on Android 2.1 and has enhanced media and internet capabilities. The device, which some bloggers describe as the "keyboardless Droid/Milestone" comes with a 3.7 inch WVGA (480x854) capacitive touch display, 550MHz Cortex A8 processor, WiFi, 3G, GPS, 720p HD video recording, 8 MP camera, FM radio, Webkit full HTML5 Browser, and a 3 axis accelerometer. The Motorola Milestone XT720 will start shipping in the UK and Northern Europe in July. No prices have been announced.

Wellington boots that let you dance your way to a fully-charged mobile phone
A new prototype from telecommunications company, Orange, has set the stage for festival-goers wanting to keep their mobile phone charged while letting their feet do the dancing. Orange teamed up with renewable energy experts GotWind to design the latest high-tech music festival fashion accessory - the Orange Power Wellies. Putting the boots on and letting your feet tap out some fancy moves for twelve hours will convert enough energy to provide around one hour of charge for your mobile phone. Heading to the dance tent and getting your feet hot and sweaty will up the amount of energy created. The boots will go on show on June 23 at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival. No price has been announced.
