WOMEN who eat a lot of meat and fatty foods are at up to four times greater risk of endometrial cancer (of the lining of the womb) than those eating mainly fruit and vegetables, say researchers from Italy and Switzerland. Foods associated with the increased risk were seed oils, butter, sugar, eggs, ham and beef. Vegetables, pasta and fresh fruit halved the risk of the disease, the report in Cancer states.
