Health Update: Herbs help eczema

CHINESE herbs have been found to be effective in the treatment of children with severe eczema. In a placebo-controlled trial, researchers at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, found that the herbal preparations proved helpful in half the children treated. But they warn in the British Journal of Dermatology that because the medicine may cause liver problems, treatment should be brief and regular liver function tests carried out.
