Health Update: Mothers' bone loss
WOMEN who breast feed for six months or more suffer 'striking' bone loss in the lower spine and hip joints, researchers in the United States have found. In a study involving almost a hundred women, they found that significant bone loss occurred despite greater calcium intake during lactation. The report is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
