A young mother has shared a note written by her eight-year-old daughter in which the child thanked her “for having sex”.

Libbi Boyns left the unusual message on a whiteboard in her bedroom in which she thanked her mother and father for procreating her and her 10-year-old brother.

"I love you Daddy and Mummy,” she wrote.

“Thank you for having sex so me and Oscar could come alive."

The child’s parents, Sophie and Mark, were shocked to read the note and burst into fits of laughter upon finding it, reports The Sun.

"Oscar found it hilarious because it had the word 'sex' in it," Sophie said.

She explained how she had originally gone into her daughter’s room to say goodnight when she was met with the note.

The family, who live in Medway, Kent, found the entire ordeal very funny and subsequently shared a photograph of the note on Facebook for their friends and family to see.

Boyns had apparently requested the whiteboard as a present because she aspires to be a teacher when she's older.

Usually, the notes she writes are a little less risqué and serve only to tell her parents that she loves them.

On this occasion, however, the savvy eight-year-old diverged in a way that took both her parents by complete surprise.

Both Boyns’ mother and father work in banking and have said that they are always direct with their children regarding conversations surrounding sex.

They explained that their daughter is a very inquisitive child and is “not afraid to “speak her mind”.
