Kelly Ripa has shared her easy hair hack for hiding grey roots while working remotely during quarantine.

Last week, Ripa was filming a segment for Live with Kelly and Ryan when she realised that she went live while she had clips still in her hair on either side of her part.

“I’m just a girl trying to put on a TV show through the computer,” Ripa joked after removing the clips.

However, when her co-host asked her about the two hair clips she was wearing, the 49-year-old revealed the hair accessories have been useful for hiding grey hair.

“Because my hair is now grey and grey hair has a different texture, anybody with grey hair can tell you - it’s very wiry, it tends to stand up,” Ripa explained.

During the clip, the TV host also said she is relying on other methods of covering grey roots - including using root spray.

“Yes I’m spraying my roots with the root touch-up spray so it looks dark,” Ripa said, gesturing to her darker blonde roots.

This is not the first time Ripa has discussed the growth of her grey roots as she continues to work from home amid the pandemic.

In March, the talk-show host shared an up-close photo of her roots on Instagram, where she wrote: “Root watch week one.” On Sunday, the host updated her Instagram followers about her roots on “week nine”.

Ripa’s transparency regarding her hair has prompted support from viewers, who have related to the host.

“I’m a clip girl too!” one person wrote, while another said: “We’re ALL grey.”
