l PETROC Trelawny may be attracting to his Radio 3 breakfast show those bored by Today. But Rex Fontaine (17 May) might recall those devotees who have been driven away by his wall-to-wall lollipops and inane chat. They have no refuge but silence.

l ANYONE who has read India's published papers on nuclear physics would realise it is not a newcomer to nuclear science ("They can't ignore India now", 17 May). It has been on a par with the West, China and Russia for the past 35 years.
