MAY I congratulate you on "Coming home" (Review, 7 June) about life after the Falklands war which highlighted the disgraceful way in which members of the armed forces are discarded after they have reached their "sell-by date". There is, however, a network of people (often ex- service personnel) who care and will help as much as they can with our problems. The South Atlantic Medal Association (01495 227577) supports comrades of the action in 1982 by providing practical help such as advice on pension and disability/incapacity schemes and also vital emotional support. Combat Stress (0181-543 6333) also supports psychologically injured servicemen or women, along with the different service benevolent trusts. There is no need to suffer on your own.
