Liz Hurley’s son, Damian, has surprised fans with an Instagram post showing just how much he looks like his mother.

Celebrating his 17th birthday, Damian shared an image of himself wearing a camouflage T-shirt, alongside a caption declaring Thursday as “Damian Day”.

While hundreds of followers flocked to the teenagers post to wish him a happy birthday, others were quick to point out just how much resembled his mother.

“You’re as beautiful as your mum,” one person commented.

Another person added: “Ditto image of your mum”.

One eagle-eyed follower even spotted that Damian was wearing a top strikingly similar to one sported by Liz in a previous Instagram post.

“I think your mom @elizabethhurley1 has the same shirt or maybe she borrowed yours. Ha! Either way you both look amazingly perfect. Happy Birthday,” someone commented.

A quick scour on Hurley’s Instagram reveals that she did in fact wear the same style camouflage T-shirt in July 2017 during a trip to Herefordshire.

"I love you England", she captioned the image, which showed her leaning against a tree by a stream.

The Austin Powers actor dedicated an Instagram post of her own to Damian on his birthday, sharing a trio of images from throughout his life.

“Happy 17th Birthday to my heavenly @damianhurley1,” she wrote.

“No one could have brought me more joy. You have made me a very proud mama.”

The post was subsequently flooded with well-wishes for the 17-year-old from followers and her roster of celebrity friends, including Elton John and Joan Collins.

“Happy Birthday Damian!!! Love Uncle EJ xoxo,” John wrote.

While Collins added: “Happy birthday darling Damian.”

Damian responded to both comments, writing: “Love you!! Xxx.”

Hurley frequently posts images of her son on social media and has previously commented on just how close the two are.

“‘Our downtime together is usually spent watching something scary on Netflix or Vikings on Amazon Prime,” she told You magazine.

“Because he’s away all week and has to make his own bed and tidy his room, I’m probably overindulgent when he’s around to make up for it.

“Given I’m a single mother and he’s an only child, by default we spend a lot of time together and we are utterly comfortable in each other’s company."
