Nissan has announced a series of mid-life revisions for its Navara pick-up and Pathfinder SUV. In addition to some cosmetic updates, the cars’ existing 2.5 litre dCi diesel engine enjoys an 11 per cent boost in both power (now 190 horsepower) and torque (now 450Nm), and is joined by a new 231 horsepower 3.0 litre V6 diesel, designated V9X, which also finds its way into three models produced by Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti.

The improvements should help the Pathfinder close the refinement gap with its most obvious competitor, Land Rover's Discovery, which has a smooth V6 diesel that was revamped and increased in capacity from 2.7 to 3.0 litres last year.
