Hand-crafted Range Rover to challenge Bentley Bentayga? Flagship car would take on exclusive Brit rival
Land Rover is also talking about building a further, uniquely styled 4x4 in very limited numbers
It’s all about ultimate personalisation and customisation in the top-flight car world these days, and things are no different in the highest echelons of the luxury 4x4 market. Traditional off-road leader Land Rover has responded to the arrival of Bentley’s ultra-prestigious £160,000 Bentayga by announcing its £165,000 Range Rover SVAutobiography – and that’s not all.
With lavish abuse of the options list likely to bump up the Bentayga’s price to as much as £250,000, Land Rover is also talking about building a further, uniquely styled 4x4 in very limited numbers. This would be crafted by the brand’s Special Vehicle Operations outfit and cost from £200,000.
Commenting on the company’s drive even further upmarket, SVO boss Paul Newsome claimed that such a model “would be hand-finished and hand-matched. Something that potential buyers could watch being made.”
