A man was fined pounds 800 for cruelty to chickens after a prosecution by Ealing council's animal welfare officials. Mr Kanapathippila Thevendran of Shackleton Road, Southall, was also ordered to pay pounds 411 costs. The charges concerned the transportation of live poultry.
