Fat cat wins PDSA slimming competition

A fat cat which shed more than 2lb has been crowned pet slimming champion of the year by an animal welfare charity.

Amber weighed 15.7lb (7.1kg) at the start of the challenge in September, more than 60 per cent over her ideal weight.

The 12-year-old feline from Edinburgh, who was put on a veterinary-controlled diet as part of the PDSA's annual Pet Fit Club competition, since lost 2.6lb (1.2kg).
