World Cup Draw (6pm BBC2) Despite qualifying top of their group and having a FIFA world ranking of six, England are unseeded going into next summer's World Cup in France, as are, less surprisingly, Scotland. Both sides will face one of the eight seeded teams - France, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Spain, Holland, Romania or Argentina - in the potentially awkward group stage. For England, an early meeting with Germany would at least avoid a semi- final repeat (or should that be defeat?) of the 1990 tournament and Euro '96. A fascinating competition beckons with Jamaica, Japan and Nigeria lighting up an expanded 32-team competition.

Pommies (10pm C4) "Aussie" Bob Godfrey is from Northampton and tonight's token character. The former builder emigrated to Australia in 1988 where he reinvented himself - complete with silly name - and set up a successful water-sports company. The programme probably peaked in its very first week, and now we are treated to endless shots of pools, barbies and general whinges about England - the main message of it all seems to be that there's nothing to do back home. This lack of imagination bodes ill, I fear, for the cultural future of Australia.
