Just when I think I have something that's my own it becomes a trend. For years, Italian teenagers have been able to get their name, or a message, stamped onto a leather bracelet for next to nothing. Hence I always had a boy's name adorning my wrist but had to time new boyfriends with trips back to Italy. I then found two Neopolitan lads who provide the same service, for pounds 2, in Trafalgar Square (Saturday afternoons). Or, leather supremo Bill Amberg has agreed to make bracelets with words for our readers, to order, for approx pounds 45 each. Even Chanel is doing bracelets with names on, although in this case it's its own. Mr Mascara does wrist elastic-bands with messages such as Available, Trash and Pervert. Or choose from Simple, Ecstasy, Beauty, Wit, Panic (others) from Proverbial Rubber Bands. AB

Mr Mascara, tel: 0171 410 1720. Proverbial Rubber Bands, tel: 0171 724 6760. Chanel, tel: 0171 493 3836. Bill Amberg, tel: 0171 727 3560.
