Where shall we meet? Clapham Picture House

The Clapham Picture House is a very nice cinema: small and cosy and running a remarkable variety of films on its four little screens. Its cafe-bar is also a delight: maroon walls, parquet floor and an ancient tin film projector for a flourish. The little round tables sport pots of flowers and the wine list is surprisingly broad and cheap (pounds 1.40 a large glass). Strong-smelling coffee is 80p and newspapers hang by the door. This place has all the advantages of a rep cinema - without the wholefood. Close to Clapham Common.
