‘A horror movie unfolding’: Woman discovers how hard it is to give your dog a haircut in lockdown

A woman has discovered that giving your dog a haircut is much harder than it looks.

Instagram user hermioneolivia shared before and after pictures of her Pomeranian dog with the caption: “Take it from Mash and wait until the professionals are back”.

In picture one, “Mash” can be seen sporting a full coat of thick orange and cream-coloured fur.

But in the second picture, Mash’s coat has been trimmed back so much that he resembles a kangaroo or an “Easter bunny”, according to one Instagram user.

Hermioneolivia says she bought a pair of clippers thinking it would be easy to trim Mash’s coat.

But it looks as though she has learnt the hard way that dog hair cuts are probably best left to the specialists.

It appears that Mash still has plenty of admirers, despite the peculiar new look.

“Oh mash man!!! You are still beautiful but dayum”, one of hermioneolivia’s followers wrote.

An another wrote: “Oh no. No no no. This is a horror movie unfolding before my eyes!”

A third: “Don’t know what everyone is worried about, he causes a stir in the park: Easter bunny has arrived”.

The Pomeranian is a Spitz-type breed of dog and derives its name from the Pomerania region in central Europe.

Spitz is a type of domestic dog characterised by long, thick, and often white fur, and pointed ears and muzzles. The tail often curls over the dog's back or droops.

Pomeranians are often referred to as a “toy dog” breed because of their small size and features. They have a life expectancy of 12 to 16 years.
