Emily Atack has a simple way of dealing with body-shaming trolls, saying that she'd care more if people insulted her personality than her appearance.

The former I'm A Celebrity contestant, who placed second in last year's competition, was subjected to derogatory comments following her appearance at the Brit Awards last month.

The actor, best known for her role as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in The Inbetweeners, wore a one-shoulder, floor-length white gown by Solace London for the star-studded occasion.

While many praised Atack over her choice of attire, others left unkind comments about her outfit on social media.

"People were saying the dress was unflattering, but I really liked it," Atack said in this week's issue of OK! magazine.

"Sometimes you have to tell people to f*** off. I get fat-shamed a lot, but I don't give a s***."

Atack continued, explaining that she is concerned with the impact body-shaming comments directed at celebrities can have on young, impressionable girls.

"I'd be more upset about comments on my personality," the 29-year-old said.

"But it's other young girls looking at those comments. I'm not fat, so they might think, well if she's fat, then what am I?"

Atack has spoken about body-shaming in the past, opening up about the issue with her quarter of a million Twitter followers on the night of the Brits.

"To all the lovely comments lots of you say to me, thank you from the bottom of my heart," the actor tweeted following her red carpet appearance at London's O2.

"To those who continue to call me fat... have a wonderful evening, and then go and f*** yourself. All the best."

On 15 December, days after Atack had completed her time in the jungle on I'm A Celebrity, the actor tweeted her astonishment after being told by a man in a restaurant that "starvation suits you".

"What in the....!? I would throw my burg at you but that would be a massive waste love," she wrote.
