MANY of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society's fixes are reserved for local borrowers. But the one-year fix at 2.74 per cent until 1 July 1995 for loans up to 70 per cent of valuation is available nationwide. There is a pounds 100 fee and no compulsory insurances. The society also has a fix at 5.74 per cent for 90 per cent loans nationwide until March 1996.

National Counties has a loan at 6.99 per cent for loans up to 70 per cent of value fixed until June 1997. The reservation fee is pounds 300. Insurance is compulsory. Those wanting to arrange their own insurance pay an extra 0.2 per cent.

Northern Rock's 4.99 per cent fix until March 1996 rises to 5.24 per cent for borrowers who want to arrange their own insurance.
