A campaign was launched this week called Keep Me Posted. It is a response to the growing number of companies pushing people towards paperless bills and statements.
The campaign says that companies should stop. Rather than trying to save money by making people move online, they should put customers first and give them what they want.
Millions still want paper statements and bills and they should have them. Companies which push people online often encourage them to do so by offering them a discount of a few quid. That effectively penalises those that don't sign up.
That's not fair. Companies should return to the notion of putting customers first, not forcing them to pay more if they don't fit certain criteria.
As an aside, the Post Office is one of the organisations behind the campaign. Of course it wants more letters! Despite that obvious self-interest, we should support this.
