The Bargain Hunter: Fragrant deals for Valentine's Day

With an eye on Valentine's Day next month, Superdrug will halve prices on a range of fragrances from next Wednesday, 30 January. The deal is available on the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier's Ma Dame, Calvin Klein's Obsession and David Beckham's Homme. The deal will be available at Superdrug's 900 stores until 16 February.

Kids go free break at Chessington

Families making plans for school half-term next month can take advantage of a "kids go free" break at Chessington World of Adventures, as long as you book by next Thursday, 31 January. All breaks include two days in the theme park and an overnight hotel stay, and start from £132.84 for a family of four, as long as you all share a room at the Holiday Inn Woking on a Friday or Sunday. Stays at the resort hotel start from £149 during term-time, but more at half-term.

New discounts in Argos catalogue

The new Argos spring/summer catalogue launched last week includes a number of new discounts. Highlights include a CnM 16GB 9in Touchpad at £129.99 and, looking ahead to better weather, a Qualcast Electric Lawnmower 1200W and Grass Trimmer, cut by £30 to £69.99. Our eyes were also caught by the new range of characters from this year's big kids' movies, such as Disney's Wreck It Ralph, Superman Man of Steel, and Pixar's Monsters Inc University.

Win an iPhone5 at money-saving site

A new money-saving site has launched with a deal this month to win a new iPhone5. The site — at ffrees.co.uk — offers points when you spend. It's aimed at families, and all members can claim an average of 6 per cent (according to the site) of what they spend, at 250 retailers, supermarkets, motor dealers, financial services firms and travel companies. To enter the iPhone5 competition you need to register by the end of January.
