The Tesco Wine Festival began earlier this week, with more than 50 critically acclaimed wines reduced by 50 per cent. Unfortunately, I remain somewhat unenlightened on the subject of wine so, while I may be unable to recommend a bottle, Tesco suggests picking up one of its wines of the week: Blason de Bourgogne Montagny Vielles, now £42.66 per case, Castillo de San Lorenzo Rioja Reserva, now £28.44 per case and Blaxland Estate Shiraz, for £22.80 per case.

On an electrical impulse?

Comet has a number of interesting coupon deals at the moment, most of which end on 31 October. The electrical store's top offers include six months' interest-free credit on all purchases over £299, up to 7.5 per cent off freezers and up to 20 per cent of fridges. A slightly shorter-lived discount is £30 off a Sony KDL40EX503U 40-inch LCD TV which ends on Tuesday. For the specific coupon codes for each deal, visit http://ind.pn/aearNA.

Smart moves from Virgin

Virgin Media is attempting to make BlackBerry smartphones more accessible with a fantastic new contract deal. On a 24-month contract costing £12 per month, new Virgin Media customers will pick up a free BlackBerry CurveT 8520. Better still, existing Virgin Media customers can sign up for just £10 per month, while students holding a valid NUS Extra card get an additional 15 per cent off. For further information visit www.virginmedia.com.

Deals on meals

This week's top printable voucher offer is 20 per cent off a meal for two or more at Frankie and Benny's Italian-American restaurants. Simply visit http://ind.pn/abCwmf, fill in and print the coupon and take it with you to your nearest branch to claim. The offer expires on 30 September, is not valid on Monday evenings. Only one voucher can be used per table.
