NORWICH UNION has launched Trust Care, a private medical insurance that offers cover for the cost of treatment in the private beds of NHS hospitals. Norwich puts the saving on premiums by using NHS pay beds at about 25 per cent.

The premium for a 30-year-old man in central London is pounds 36.24 a month compared with the top- of-the-range Norwich Union Express Care premium of pounds 51.77.
