Argentina in bitter fishing rights row
Buenos Aires - Argentina said it has suspended talks with Britain over fishing rights in the South Atlantic because of a bitter row over the disputed waters off the South Georgia Islands. "Because of the issue of Georgias, we have suspended negotiations that were difficult but also very necessary," the Argentine foreign minister, Guido Di Tella, said.
The row has become one of the fiercest since the Falklands war in 1982. Reuter
