AMEC order book at pounds 3bn

AMEC, THE construction firm, said yesterday that the outlook for the remainder of the year is good, while the firm's order book remained sustained at around pounds 3bn.

The company also reported first half pre-tax profits of pounds 27.1m, up from the pounds 22.6m recorded a year earlier. The interim dividend is being lifted to 2.5p a share.
