STOCKS FELL on Friday as Wall Street saw a bigger risk that interest rates may be headed higher, a day after listening to Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan's comments about the economy.

The Dow Jones index was down 58.26 points, or 0.53 per cent, at 10,910.96.

The technology-heavy Nasdaq index was up 7.97 points, or 0.30 per cent, at 2,692.41.
