Around the World's Markets: New York
US STOCKS rebounded as the yen perked up, but Wall Street was unconvinced the market pullback is over. The Dow closed up 90.11 points, or 1 per cent, at 8,552.96. The index recouped much of Tuesday's 112-point loss: 712 million shares changed hands.
Rumours that Japan would intervene to boost the yen pushed the market up and the dollar declined, helping shift some money back into stocks from bonds.
