WALL STREET moved into correction territory by midday as stocks fell on a number of worries, including rising interest rates, currency fluctuations and an overall lack of good news.

By midday the Dow Jones was down 141 points, or 1.37 per cent, at 10,161. A close below 10,193.44 on the Dow will represent a 10 per cent decline - the benchmark for a correction - from its all-time high of 11,326.04 on 25 August.
