INTEREST RATE worries sent shares on Wall Street diving by 100 points in early trading before the market mounted a recovery on the back of higher Internet stocks.

By early afternoon, the Dow Jones was down 33 points at 10,782. Alan Greenspan, the Fed chairman, has already hinted rates are likely to go up when the committee meets on 30 June but the debate has moved to how many rate rises the economy needs.
