US STOCKS were in record territory yesterday as investors snatched up economically-sensitive as well as big-name technology stocks, despite the bond market's leap to a two-year high.

The Dow Jones climbed 55 points, or 0.49 per cent, to 11,330, surpassing its closing high of 11,326.04 reached on 25 August.

The Nasdaq index was up 35 points, or 0.96 per cent, at 3,750, topping the previous session's record close of 3,715.06.
