THE DOW Jones index traded higher as technology stocks moved upwards again after their recent plunge. At midday the Dow was up 107 points at 10,670. The technology-laden Nasdaq composite index rose 30 points to 2,428, after slumping 50 points on Monday.

One trader said: "The Internet bubble burst a bit on Monday but that didn't seem to drag down the overall market and today even the Internet sector has stabilised."
