Outlook: Why aren't bankers going to jail? – it is being asked by some here in Davos. As far as American bankers are concerned, we probably don't have long to wait.
The US, where the law of the posse still reigns supreme, is much more effective in dealing with this sort of thing than the Brits. Yet even in Brit-ain, whose soft approach to financial shenanigans is legendary, the scale of the deceit and the damage inflicted on ordinary people demands public retribution with at least a token imprisonment. Watch this space.
