Computer distributor plans pounds 1bn flotation
Computacenter, the UK's largest independent computer distributor, is planning a flotation which could value the company at pounds 1bn. Sales at the London-based company, which installs computer systems for business customers, have risen from pounds 4m in 1985, its launch year, to pounds 1bn. Computacenter is reportedly appointing a financial adviser in the hope of coming to market in the summer. The company is backed by venture capital groups including Apax Partners.
