Fallen idol
David Weill, a star among British hedge fund managers in 1993, is rapidly becoming a fallen idol. His main fund, Dorje, is said to have fallen by more than 35 per cent so far this year. Informed sources suggest he is now managing about dollars 300m (pounds 199m) against about dollars 1bn at the end of last year.
