BAA to pay some cost of tunnel collapse

BAA, the airports operator, warned yesterday that it would have to bear some of the costs of last year's collapse of tunnelling work on the pounds 300m Heathrow-London Express Link. BAA yesterday reported an 8 per cent rise in passenger traffic at its airports, which helped lift first-quarter pre-tax profits to pounds 127m from pounds 111m last time.
