Japan surplus drops 16.6% in yen
Japan's trade surplus in the first six months of this year fell 16.6 per cent in yen terms to Y985bn, but it fell only 4 per cent to $57.4bn measured in the US currency because of the 15 per cent fall in the dollar against the yen over that period.
