Judge allows suit against Shell and Hoechst

An Alabama judge has allowed a class action against Shell Oil and Hoechst to go ahead over plumbing systems that used polybutylene pipe and are alleged to have caused damaged to homes. Observers said there could be claims for as much as $7bn damages.
