Liberfabrica in pounds 36.4m takeover

LIBERFABRICA, the UK book manufacturer formerly known as Bath Press, has agreed to a pounds 36.4m takeover by privately owned French rival Chevrillon Philippe Industrie that will create Europe's biggest book manufacturer.

CPI has offered 16p a share, valuing Liberfabrica at pounds 36.4m. The offer represents a premium of 30.6 per cent to the closing price of Liberfabrica's shares on 18 February, the day before its board revealed it was considering taking the company private. Roy Hill (pictured), chief executive of Liberfabrica, said the Liberfabrica name would remain and the company operate as a division of CPI.
