Amazon Black Friday deals: Discounts on electronics, films, TV box sets and Kindle

Amazon has revealed that it is targeting the TV market as it tries to lure millions of shoppers to its site on Black Friday.

The company will offer deals including 45 per cent off some Samsung TVs - including the Samsung 40-inch Smart 1080p LED TV for $328 and the Samsung 55-inch Curved Smart 4K Ultra HD LED TV for $1,298.

General offers on electronics include a 32-inch LED TV for $79, a Toshiba 50-inch LED TV for $199, a Samsung 55-inch Smart LED 4K Ultra HD TV for $899 — and LG G3 and HTC One M8 smart phones for only 1 cent with a 2 year contract.

Amazon is offering more than 50 Kindle books for $1.99, and up to 58 percent off more than 11,000 movies and TV shows including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Friends: The Complete Series, and Downton Abbey. Amazon Wine discounts will start at 60 percent.

It will have up to 30 per cent off selected Dyson products, a “buy one, get one free” on Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Toys, and up to 40 percent off select Lionel Train sets.

Amazon Prime members will get access to select “Lightning Deals” 30 minutes before other customers.

Black Friday is big business in the US. Last year, shoppers spent $57.4 billion over the course of the weekend, according to the National Retail Federation. On average, consumers spent $403, down 4% on the previous year.
