Business leaders have called for £2bn of tax cuts in next month's Budget in a move they say would encourage firms to invest more.

Business leaders have called for £2bn of tax cuts in next month's Budget in a move they say would encourage firms to invest more.

The Confederation of British Business said the Government could afford to put extra money into the economy.

In its Budget submission, it said cutting the business tax burden should be the Chancellor's's top priority.

The CBI also urged modest tax cuts and further rate cuts as the best ways to respond to fears of a global slowdown.
