The City is reviewing its human resources policies ahead of the London 2012 Olympics, as British businesses struggle to grapple the logistics of hosting the sporting jamboree.
At least two of the big four banks are understood to have set up internal working groups to find ways of helping staff work remotely, as access to the capital's financial districts is likely to be difficult during the Games.
Tickets for next year's Games go on sale this week and the capital's workforce is likely to apply en masse. Successful applicants and those wanting time off to watch London 2012 on television will lead to a swath of holiday time being taken during next summer's event.
A survey by Deloitte, the big four accountant, found that a third of big companies plan to install flexible working practices during the two week timetable.
